Bellerbys College Summer Schools

If you are aged 8-18, enjoy learning and have a spirit of adventure and discovery, then our MW Summer Schools are the place to be this summer. Here, you will enjoy improving your English while learning a choice of sports and activities. These will be professionally organised to create your perfect summer holiday.

Our summer schools are set in some of the most beautiful countryside in England, and yet still within two hours of London and its international airports. Our courses are led by experienced staff that encourage and motivate students to develop their sporting, academic and English language skills.

You can book from two weeks up to six weeks to create your ideal summer holiday - one you will remember all your life.



Kingham Hill School



Kingham Hill School is located in the heart of the Cotswolds and was purpose built as a boarding school in 1886. It has since become a popular and well-established independent school providing outstanding sports and teaching facilities.

The school is a magical collection of old architecture and modern facilities. Its superb on-site sports facilities include a state-of-the-art dance studio, modern indoor swimming pool, school gymnasium, several tennis courts and extensive playing fields for outdoor sports.

In total there are seven boarding houses on site, each very different in character and size. All students share meals in the spacious dining room.

The school is located within a very safe and closed campus, close to the town of Chipping Norton. It is within easy reach of the city of Oxford and Shakespeare's home town of Stratford-Upon-Avon. It is the perfect setting for students wishing to get away from it all and get involved in the many sports and academic courses we offer.

Course start dates: Weekly start dates from 11 July - 15 August 2010. Minimum two weeks.

Student age range: 8-15.

All other specialist courses: £880  per week.

Roedean School



Originally founded in 1885, Roedean School is one of the most prestigious girl's independent boarding schools in the UK. It offers excellent facilities including 40 dedicated acres of playing fields and space for leisure activities, several tennis courts, a large indoor sports hall and a fabulous indoor swimming pool with spectacular views out to sea.

The beautiful school also provides art and dance studios, comfortable boarding houses and a modern dining room.

The school is located in a stunning setting, a short bus ride away from the popular seaside city of Brighton and overlooks Brighton Marina.

Roedean's facilities and location make it a great choice for a summer vacation course beside the sea.

Course start dates: Weekly start dates from 4 July - 15 August 2010. Minimum two weeks.

Student age range: 12-18.

Warminster School



Founded in 1707, Warminster is one of the leading independent boarding schools in the South West of England. The school has been providing a quality learning environment for 300 years.

The excellent on-site facilities include modern classrooms, a large sports hall and squash courts, tennis courts, an outdoor heated swimming pool, a relaxing art room and several sports pitches. Meals take place in the spacious dining room and students are housed amongst six renovated boarding houses.

The school is located just on the edge of the historic town of Warminster in Wiltshire. Warminster School's magnificent setting in 50 acres of grounds provides the perfect location for sports and outdoor pursuits of all kinds.

Student age range: 10-16.

Bellerbys College Summer Art & Design



The Summer Art & Design course will help you to encourage your artistic talents and express yourself using different media.

After your English lessons in the morning you will spend three hours, four afternoons a week, developing your art projects and building up a portfolio of your work. You may get the opportunity to visit local galleries and join in discussions about art, as well as studying and practicing painting, still life and colour studies. All students put together a sketch book of their studies, which they can take home with them, and hold an exhibition of their work at the end of their course.

For the last hour of the day, you'll also have the option to take part in the multi-sports available on site.

Summer Dance


Enjoy dancing but don't necessarily want to take it up as a career? The Summer Dance course, with an emphasis on modern jazz, street dance and the latest dance techniques, is perfect for you, whatever your level of ability.

After your morning English language classes, you'll spend three hours, four afternoons per week, putting together routines and learning new contemporary moves with a qualified dance instructor. You'll get the opportunity to showcase what you have learned in the evening talent show, along with the other dance students.

For the last hour of the day, you'll also have the option to take part in the multi-sports available on site.

Summer Football


If you wish to improve your football skills as well as your English language then our Summer Football course is exactly what you need! Our course, taught by professional football coaches, covers all of the various skills required to improve your game. You'll also take part in football matches with the other participants to practice what you have learned.

You'll study three hours of English each morning, followed by two hour football training sessions, four afternoons a week. For the last hour of the day, you'll join other students in a range of sporting activities such as swimming, football, basketball and more.

Summer Golf


Join our Summer Golf course and we'll improve your golfing game, whatever your level. You'll receive tailor-made instruction in small groups from a qualified PGA instructor at a local professional golf club. You'll use the practice driving range, pitch and putting green and more advanced students may play the course itself.

You'll study three hours of English per day followed by two hours of professional golf instruction, four afternoons a week. You'll then return to the school where you can join in another sporting activity with your friends.

Summer Horse Riding


The Summer Horse Riding course is suited for riders of all abilities. After your morning English lessons, you'll receive two hours of training, four days per week at a local riding school approved by the British Horse Society.

Beginners are taught to ride correctly while more experienced riders can develop their 'clear round' and cross country jumping. All students receive an introduction to horse and stable management and will take part in treks out in the local countryside.

Back at the school, you'll then join your friends for some sporting activities for the last hour of the day

Summer Intensive


If you are looking for a fast way to improve your English, then with 23 hours of English language tuition per week, the Summer Intensive course is just for you.

Morning classes focus on general English and communication and fluency skills in small multinational groups. In the afternoon, lessons take place in much smaller groups (maximum six students) and focus on specific language skills and project work.

At the end of the day you'll then have the opportunity to join the rest of the students and relax with perhaps a game of tennis or a swim in the school pool.

Summer Multi-sports


Our Summer Multi-sports course combines English language tuition with a choice of activities, to create a fun-packed holiday that you will remember forever.

Each afternoon, following English language tuition with the other Summer School students, you'll be offered the choice of three activities making use of the excellent on-site facilities. Football, tennis, basketball, badminton, volleyball, arts and crafts, uni-hoc or swimming - the choice is yours!

Summer Sailing


The Summer Sailing course will help you to learn English in the morning and the basics of sailing in the afternoon!

Fully qualified and experienced instructors will guide you safely through the exciting sailing opportunities using Optimist and Topper (oppies and toppers) sailing dinghies, depending on your age and experience.

You'll have a minimum of eight hours of sailing tuition per week, plus three hours of English language tuition five days per week. One afternoon a week will be spent on site taking part in a variety of activities including badminton, football and table tennis.

Summer Study


Summer Study is an ideal and enjoyable way to raise your academic and language standards in preparation for entry into the British education system. It provides the ideal taster for study in Bellerbys College or a UK boarding school.

The timetable, which is very similar to that of a typical British school, includes English language tuition along with science, history, maths and geography, for example. But it's not all study! From 4pm and at weekends Summer Study course students join others on the activity and excursion programme.

Summer Tennis


On the Summer Tennis course you'll get plenty of coaching from full-time tennis professionals to enable you to improve you skills. You'll learn about stroke play, tactics and serving, plus group and single play. You'll get lots of practice and encouragement, whatever your ability.

Each day starts with three hours of English language tuition followed by two hours of tennis tuition, four afternoons a week. You'll then be free to continue playing tennis or join your friends in other sporting activities.

Summer Media & Film Studies


The Summer Media & Film Studies course will help you to improve your English and gain experience in using a range of media.

After studying English in the morning you'll have professionally tutored media and film lessons for three hours, four afternoons a week. You'll learn how to produce a short film, practice your journalism skills and analyse films.

For the last hour of the day, you'll also have the option to take part in the multi-sports available on site.
