Every year thousands of tourists visit the history and traditions connected with mysterious and natural beauty in the culture of Scotland's capital Edinburgh, which is one of the country's most impressive cities. The population is around 500,000 in Scotland. It is famous with Scotch whiskeys, bagpipe playing musicians and medieval castles. Although the weather can be colder than other cities, Edinburgh is a unique place to discover.
Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland. The Old and New Town areas, the sea and hills outside the city combine to give Edinburgh a unique character. Home of the Scottish Parliament, festivals, concerts and exhibitions - Edinburgh is a vibrant cosmopolitan city, a perfect place to learn English.
Scotland is a small and welcoming English-speaking country. It has beautiful scenery and a long and colourful history of its own, in addition to a distinctive culture and traditions. Scottish people are known all over the world for their warmth and hospitality. As well as providing a further language learning opportunity, schools have weekly excursions that allow students to experience the unique culture and natural beauty of Scotland.
This education centre only allows a maximum of 5 students in each classroom to ensure they provide very high quality English training, which guarantees ECS is one of Scotland Edinburgh’s elite schools. ECS Scotland is an independent, family run, English language school which was established in 1995. They have recently relocated to an attractive 3-storey building in the centre of Edinburgh, just off Charlotte Square.
Although they have moved in to a slightly larger building, ECS Scotland maintains its ethos of small group learning with the emphasis on communication skills. The school has a quiet, professional office environment which is ideal for learning English.

Basil Peterson is also known with a variety of training programs in English and Scottish of which the students can benefit from. The international students are taught in the same building as the local students. This school welcomes international students, as it is a school which has students from over 50 countries.
